This past weekend, Thomas and I took the trek up to Seattle under some unfortunate
circumstances. We went for the memorial
of his Grandfather and Grandmother who passed away a few months ago (a month
apart!) They had been together for 65 years and after spending all those years
together, they were laid to rest together in Port Angeles in a garden at the back of a
church. It was really beautiful, and I know it meant a lot for us to be there
for it. I mean, this is the 5th after all (Thomas William Hawksworth
V)! What was really nice was meeting the Hawksworth clan. Aunts, uncles and
cousins showed up, which was cause for a nice reunion. My favorite was all the
stories that were shared about their upbringing, and funny moments in their
life. Even though I had only met them once, I felt like I really got a good
sense of who they were.
