Parents Meet the Parents...for real!

This is the weekend where the inevitable happens; our parents meet for the first time. (Dun dun duuuun) No, it's actually going to be really great. (Hopefully it won't end up like the movie) It's been a long time coming and both sets of parents have been hearing so much about the others that it's like they know eachother already! We will be doing some pretty fun things like going to the Wild Animal Park in San Diego and the Sounders / LA Galaxy game around here.

Here are some pictures to get them ready to meet:

How I can embarrass Thomas – Part 1

I found some pictures from the weekend where it was a perfect snapshot of how I can act silly when I feel comfortable enough. To set up the pictures, Thomas and I were eating lunch on the pier in Santa Barbara. I had ordered crab legs, since I was craving them for the past couple months, and I thought it would be funny to start talking with the crab legs. SO in a high pitched almost baby tone, I took my crab leg and started a conversation…..with myself! Thomas caught me without me knowing!

Santa Barbara

Anyone that has been to Santa Barbara knows how beautiful it is up there. The pier, the food, the weather and vibe are all perfect. Thomas and I were so excited to get up there that we woke up at 7am on Saturday to get a head start and to catch the “Summer solstice parade.” Our intensions were good; however on the way up there we felt this urge to stop at the Camarillo Outlet mall. (bad news) We spent a good two hours roaming around all the great shops and stimulating the economy the only way we know how; shopping! We left feeling good about our purchases and the dent we left on our credit cards.

When we finally arrived in SB, we had missed the parade, but not the after party in the park. I am extremely bummed I didn’t bring my camera, since there were things I would never again want to see, but would love to share. Some details; two women in leopard leotards (Jessica), people dressed up as every animal possible, hippies galore, and many more unimaginable outfits. We definitely had a giggle.

After our eyes couldn’t take anymore extreme outfits, we went back to our B&B; The Orchard Inn. It was the cutest place and close to everything. We had a “wine tasting,” which was less tasting and more of them bringing us glasses of wine. (Perfect before dinner!) We walked over to a restaurant called “Brophy Brothers” where we actually played credit card roulette. Thomas won, but only because he cheated and told the server which one to pick.

The rest of the weekend was us exploring Santa Barbara!

18 Roses

Beautiful Roses!
What a great way to start out a Friday morning!
18 roses; one for each month we have been together.

Does that mean when we hit 20 years I get 240 roses?? Yippee!

Happy Halferanniversary!

Living in Southern California, we are really lucky. We can go skiing in the morning and to the beach in the afternoon, all within the same day. We can go hiking in the mountains or wine tasting in Santa Barbara or Temelcula (yes, we have TWO choices). There is a ton to do and activities are very accessible. Since we are so adventurous, Thomas and I are always trying to find new things to experience. This weekend we have decided to take a small roadtrip up to Santa Barbara for our anniversary.

Our real anniversary is on Dec 26th (take note people), but because there are SO many things going on at that time (xmas, my birthday, his birthday, my mom’s birthday, his mom and dad’s birthdays, thanksgiving, new years, etc), we have decided to change when we celebrate our anniversary to June 26th the “half anniversary.” Halferanniversary!

Thomas booked an all inclusive Bed & Breakfast up in SB for Saturday night! Wine tasting, massages, and breakfast are all included! (I could squeal right now) Little did we know when booking the quaint lodging, there is a HUGE parade going on this weekend called “Summer Solstice.” I guess it’s just a big party and people go up there just for that event. We shall see how epic it is shortly. Needless to say, Friday can’t come quick enough.  Happy Halferanniversary!

Tiny Polka-dot Bikini

It’s funny how fashion trends come and go. Some trends leave for the better (huge bell bottoms and frizzy 80’s hair) and some come back. For those of you that know me well know I am not huge into fashion. I have days where I like to think I am, but let’s be honest, I stick with what works. Many times I have found a trend that works for me only to find out it is no longer “fashionable.” Go figure.

Thomas on the other hand is pretty fashionable. We are both really into “the Bachelor” and he loved it when Ed (from Gillian’s season) wore the short bathing suit shorts. This weekend we found a bathing suit that was awesome for Thomas to invest in.
Doesn't he look hot!

I also invested in the newest trend; a floppy hat. I thought it was a wise investment especially after my last dermatologist visit.

ZZZZZzzzzz

I don’t know about you, but I love to sleep. I go to great lengths to make sure I get enough each night. If I slack on the full 8 hours, I feel completely useless the next day, not to mention I end up getting sick if I do it a few days in a row. How do some people go no little sleep and still function the next day? I have never understood this. I get into a funk I can’t snap out of. Needless to say, today I feel like poop. The last couple days Thomas and I have been going to bed later and later. It’s not on purpose, but when you get home (after going to the gym), make some food, tidy up the house, and then finally sit down it’s already 10:30 pm. No bueno! I need to figure out a way to get a full night of sleep in without neglecting my chores, body, social life and boyfriend. Suggestions?

Last night in particular we went to the Angels game with a few friends from work. It was a good time except for the fact that we didn’t get home until 10pm. The good news is that we already ate, so no cooking was required, however my OCD kicks in when things are out of place, so we didn’t get to sleep until 11pm. Not good when you have to wake up early the next day.

I know you are all wondering…Angels lost.
