Rehearsal Dinner - CHECK!

When Thomas and I starting planning this wedding, we never thought the hardest part would be booking the rehearsal dinner. I mean, you see what's around your venue and book a place. It didn't even occur to me when looking at venues to see what restaurants were in the area. I was so focused on finding that perfect space for us to get married, I figured everything else would fit into place. This past weekend, it finally did, but not without a lot of stress, taste testing, and very inventive thinking. It's totally us; fun, western, and has ton of character!

Welcome to the Mill Creek Cattle Co (Side fact - Thomas grew up in Mill Creek, Washington)

Happy Birthday Michelle!

It was Michelle's 30th Birthday at the beginning of this month, and I knew we had to do something really special! I mean, you only turn 30 once and to be honest, it can be quite traumatic. (I am bracing for mine now and I have a year and a half) She handled it like a pro and came into her 30's in style. Here are a few pictures from the last "work" day in her 20's...

My cheeks still hurt from blowing up all these balloons!

GO SOUNDERS!

Over the weekend T and I travelled out to Chivas stadium to go watch them play the Seattle Sounders. For those of you who don't know, these are soccer teams (cough, mom). Last Christmas my "to-be" mother and father in-law bought me my first Sounders shirt and the infamous Sounders scarf. I have definitely put them to good use!

We got to the stadium and saw all the red and black shirts (the Chivas colors) all over. We kept looking around and finally saw (in the corner) the visiting team in their lime green shirts. I just giggled because they match the people who sell peanuts at the game. We kept walking towards where our seats were (with the Chivas fans), when we started hearing heckling coming from behind us. We turned around only to see the ENTIRE Sounders section yelling at us to come back. We blushed a little, but kept walking only to look back again (to see if they have calmed down) to them yelling again. T turned to me and asked if we should go sit with them. I said, "ok, let's go." Right when we turn around to walk back towards them, we hear this eruption of cheering. I couldn't believe this was happening to us.

We grab a beer and head down the steps towards the crowd and again they are cheering that we came and sat with them. If only this happened every time I entered a room ;)

SOUNDERS WON!

OH, I almost forgot.....After the game we decided to have a little late night snack at Denny's. It's not the best neighborhood, but figured a Denny's is a Denny's, right?....how bad could it be? I found out that not only can you rent out a section of Denny's for a party, you can get down and dirty as well! Party at Denny's...um ok. Check!

Meet our Newest Family Member - Goober

Since we lost Nico, there has been a hole in our house. Unfortunately, we will never be able to fill that hole completely. We knew that Nico went out the way he wanted, and the only thing we could do to move forward is save another little life. We found Goober at the OC animal shelter really ill. He couldn't breathe or open his right eye. He got his name because of all the snot and eye goobers he had coming out of him (poor lil guy). We knew we had to take him home and get him better.

Now we have Moo and Goo.

Our Dear Friend Kenny

Everyone knows, we are big country fans, so when we heard Kenny Chesney was coming to the OC, we jumped at tickets. It's been a couple years since our friend Kenny has been to town, and I couldn't wait to see him "up close." Our tickets were horrible, however we made a day of it. A BBQ, flip-cup, DJ T-Dawg, and lots of friends is always the perfect recipe for a good time.

With my mini-me in the Olympics (Makayla Moroney), I thought I would try some of my own moves in Mexico against an unbelievable sunset.

Found it!

THOMAS - Don't worry there are no pictures of the dress in this blog :)

Wedding dress shopping was a HUGE success! My mom came up from San Diego Saturday morning to go to the first appointment together as mother and daughter. We picked out four different dresses to try on, so we could see which ones look great on my body. After trying on the first dress, I knew exactly what I wanted. As I tried on the others, they just didn't compare. We were having so much fun, we didn't realize we had killed four hours already. We were picking out mother of the bride outfits and looking at bridesmaid dresses.  While we were there, we were waiting for Lo (MOH) to show up. You can always count on there being horrible traffic from LA to OC, so she wasn't able to see the dresses at this appointment (sad face).

After grabbing a quick (very quick) bite and Lo, we made our way to our second appointment. I was excited for this one because two more of my bridesmaids were meeting up with us there, Allison (Flash) and Jess. They were so sweet to drive in from LA for this special day! Of course they were the "peanut gallery." I really couldn't stop laughing.

The girls made me "walk down the aisle" in this place, which was probably the most uncomfortable thing I have done yet. You could see it all over my face! They loved it...ha

I tried on a few more, but realized I was comparing every dress to that first one. I told the girls that my dress is back at that other store. They all agreed to drive back to the other store to see it on me. We went back, I put it on, and I knew! Done and done.

While there, I was having fun making the girls try on Bridesmaid dresses! Payback :) hehe (Notice I didn't post the picture ladies)

All in all a great day!

One tip for those of you about to go wedding dress shopping.....make sure you have a drink handy at the end, because it is overwhelming!!

Wedding Dress

I received TWO emails today from different wedding websites stating the same exact thing. 1) I have 10 months to go and 2) I should start looking for wedding dresses. Wow, are we on the same page or what?!

Saturday, I am going with my mom and a few best girlfriends wedding dress shopping. I honestly couldn't be more excited. Every person has a different "thing" that makes getting married feel real. For me it's the dress. Once I start trying them on, I know it's really going to hit me...oh goodness, get the Kleenex!

What do you think?

Just kidding.

Nico 2007-2012

Getting home from a vacation is often a bust, but it is even more so when one of your pets doesn't come home. Nico was an outdoor kitty, but always came home every night. For five years he would go outside when I left for work and be waiting for me when I got home. It was clock-work, so when he didn't come home for two days, I knew something was wrong. We don't know what happened, but we know he isn't coming back.

He had the biggest personality and everyone in the neighborhood knew him. Some called him Trouble, Mico, or nicky-poo, but regardless of his name, he was my boy. I will miss him a lot.

Did you know...

I found out an amazing fact today! If you buy a Disney movie and it breaks, scratches or whatever (even if it's your fault), they will replace it for next to nothing ($6.95) How cool is that?!

http://www.disneystudioshelp.com/detail_TOPSUPP_DiscReplace__SUPPORT.html

I bet we are going to use this "fun fact" in the years to come. We bought Lion King and Beauty and the Beast, a couple months ago. Go team Disney!

Success!

PCRF was this past Sunday and it was a HUGE success! SO many of our friends came out to support and it was fantastic. The kids played, there were barn animals, a rock climbing wall and of course the all of that darn running. We ended up running the 5k, because I didn't want to re-injure my neck, but it was still amazing. Thomas wore his neon yellow shirt and shoes, so there was no way we could loose him.

Thank you to everyone who donated and supported this worthy cause!! Until next year....

This SUNDAY

It was almost a year ago I started talking about this day! It's almost here! Pediatric Cancer Research Foundation run/walk! Can't wait!

We have a competition in my office that gives a prize out to the first and second place winners who raise the most amount of money in donations. I am in second place, and I am pulling out all the stops to win first! I have a team that is sending out emails like crazy to try and surpass the person currently in first. It's almost crazy (notice I saw almost). hehe WISH ME LUCK!

See you ALL on Sunday!!
